OUR EXPERIENCES OVER THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

 

Despite the restrictions impacting upon everyone in the membership sector at present, it’s essentially business as normal for Hall Associates right now.

We are continuing to work on numerous projects across our client base, many of which have particular emphasis on helping to maintain member engagement, renewal, and retention throughout this difficult period.

At the same time, we are of course carefully following Government advice, and keeping up to date with all appropriate health and safety measures at all times.

We have adapted the way we support our clients to help them operate more easily within the demands of remote working and now have video conference calling and on-line meetings in place as standard practice. We are sensitive to the issues many clients, and their members, are facing and are tailoring the way we work to meet their specific needs.

We have partnered with more than 170 membership organisations over the last two decades, and many of our previous clients are now coming back to us to ask for urgent support in keeping their membership activities on track during the current difficulties.

We are uniquely well placed to help keep membership stable and secure while there is so much disruption to normal day-to-day working, and recognising the financial strain on the sector at present, we are also able to help by offering performance related fees.

Interestingly, we are finding that members (and past members) are more inclined to respond to telephone based engagement in the current circumstances. We are seeing increased levels of positive dialogue, and it’s clear to us that members are deriving real, personal benefit from the interaction.

In fact, we believe that now is the time to be extending member outreach, particularly telephone based contact, and are recommending the take up of new and innovative engagement routines designed to support, as well as inform, members.

We know that finances are especially tight at present, and are therefore happy to carry out pilot engagement campaigns to test their value and prove the return before our clients make any major investment.

From a strategic viewpoint, we are working hard with our clients to develop realistic, practical plans for managing the situation today and then returning quickly to sustainable membership growth when circumstance change for the better.

We have a long and successful history of helping membership bodies to grow in terms of member numbers, increase income, and deliver the services that the market really wants. We are now able to apply this knowledge and experience to help position our clients for the “new” future.
