We carry out membership benchmarking on a regular basis, either specifically for a client project, or to compare membership performance across entire sectors.

In our view, all membership bodies should carry out comparisons with the upper quartile results being achieved by other similar organisations. The exercise also helps to determine realistic goals based upon the reality of what is being achieved by other organisations, and provides an immediate, clear picture of the range of opportunities on offer.

We have compiled a comprehensive membership benchmarking database and have an intimate knowledge of Professional Bodies and their approaches. This enables us to give our clients an objective picture of how they measure up across a range of criteria, and quantify the potential for improvement and growth.

The benchmarking extends beyond basic key performance indicators and looks at all aspects of the membership journey experience, including the offering, relevance, and value proposition.

In addition, we have the advantage of another, rather sophisticated, set of data. We engage with our client’s members on a daily basis and have constantly updated insight into what members are saying, what their opinions are (and what they worry about) and can plot and track trends in real time.

We are therefore able to provide our clients with a set of comparative data and contrast the responses and feedback gathered from any member contact we carry out against responses to similar questions received during projects we carry out for other clients.
